Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9labor\u00e9 le premier plan annuel pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s dans le cadre de l'exercice d'\u00e9tablissement des niveaux d'immigration.<\/p>\n<p>Mike a fourni des conseils strat\u00e9giques sur  les op\u00e9rations de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s au Chili, en Am\u00e9rique centrale, en Europe et en Asie du Sud-Est. Il a supervis\u00e9 et examin\u00e9 les d\u00e9cisions du Comit\u00e9 interminist\u00e9riel sur le statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9. Il a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 le Comit\u00e9 consultatif sur le statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9. Il a \u00e9galement repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 Immigration Canada au comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif du Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s (HCR) et a organis\u00e9 une r\u00e9solution qui a men\u00e9 au premier manuel du HCR sur la d\u00e9termination du statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En 1979 et 1980, il a coordonn\u00e9 les activit\u00e9s de s\u00e9lection et de traitement des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s en Asie, le fonctionnement des centres d'accueil \u00e0 Edmonton et \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al et le traitement des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s parrain\u00e9s dans les bureaux locaux. Il a \u00e9galement dirig\u00e9 le d\u00e9veloppement du processus pour jumeler les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s parrain\u00e9s. En somme, il a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans l'\u00e9volution de la politique et de l'administration des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s au Canada au cours de la p\u00e9riode de 1976 \u00e0 1980.<\/p>\n<div
