Ils se sont retrouv\u00e9s dans le camp de Nong Khai en Tha\u00eflande. Peu de temps apr\u00e8s leur arriv\u00e9e dans le camp, on leur a propos\u00e9 de se rendre en France. Pendant son s\u00e9jour, elle a travaill\u00e9 dans un h\u00f4tel. Elle a rencontr\u00e9 Vong Paspaporn, une connaissance de sa jeunesse au Laos. Le couple a pass\u00e9 du temps ensemble et a choisi de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 un appel du gouvernement laotien \u00e0 retourner dans son pays d'origine. Ils sont revenus, mais \u00e9taient pr\u00e9occup\u00e9s par les changements sociaux et \u00e9conomiques au Laos. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Le couple est mont\u00e9 \u00e0 v\u00e9lo vers le M\u00e9kong o\u00f9 ils ont utilis\u00e9 un radeau pour atteindre les c\u00f4tes tha\u00eflandaises. Une fois en Tha\u00eflande, ils ont demand\u00e9 l'asile au Canada.
