Il a voyag\u00e9 en autobus du Vietnam au Cambodge. Son voyage a \u00e9t\u00e9 sem\u00e9 d'emb\u00fbches, de dissimuler son identit\u00e9 vietnamienne aux points de contr\u00f4le et d'\u00e9chapper aux autorit\u00e9s en se cachant sur le toit de l'autobus pour \u00e9viter d'\u00eatre d\u00e9tect\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir travers\u00e9 le Cambodge, il a rencontr\u00e9 et aid\u00e9 des hommes tha\u00eflandais qui portaient le torse d'une statue de Bouddha. Il a finalement pass\u00e9 plusieurs mois en Tha\u00eflande, restant dans le camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s de Khao I Dang. Pendant son s\u00e9jour au camp, il a demand\u00e9 l'asile au Canada.
