Il est n\u00e9 au sud du Vi\u00eatnam et a pass\u00e9 une grande partie de son enfance dans cette r\u00e9gion du pays. Plusieurs mois avant de quitter son pays, il poursuivait ses \u00e9tudes afin de devenir pr\u00eatre catholique dans un s\u00e9minaire de sa ville natale. Soucieux de son bien-\u00eatre, sa famille lui a assur\u00e9 un moyen de s\u2019\u00e9vader. Il est mont\u00e9 dans un petit bateau avec plusieurs autres r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s. Apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 4 jours en mer, ceux-ci sont arriv\u00e9s sur l\u2019\u00eele de Kuku en Indon\u00e9sie. Apr\u00e8s une semaine sur l'\u00eele, les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 envoy\u00e9s dans le camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s de Galang sur cette \u00eele. Il a pass\u00e9 plus de 5 mois dans le camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Durant son s\u00e9jour dans le camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, il a demand\u00e9 et obtenu l'asile au Canada par des agents de l'immigration canadienne. \u00c0 son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al en mars 1980, il fut accueilli et finalement appuy\u00e9 par des repr\u00e9sentants de l\u2019\u00c9glise catholique de Montr\u00e9al. Pendant un certain temps, tout en \u00e9tant parrain\u00e9 par l\u2019\u00e9glise, il suivit des cours de langue fran\u00e7aise offert par le Centre d\u2019orientation et de formation des immigrants. Il a poursuivi ses \u00e9tudes au Grand S\u00e9minaire de Montr\u00e9al et a \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 pr\u00eatre catholique en 1987.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div
