Ils sont arriv\u00e9s dans les \u00eeles indon\u00e9siennes cinq jours plus tard. Ils sont rest\u00e9s dans un camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s o\u00f9 ils ont rencontr\u00e9 des repr\u00e9sentants de l'immigration canadienne. La famille est autoris\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00e9migrer au Canada en octobre 1979. Ils ont choisi le Canada en raison de sa r\u00e9putation de pays stable o\u00f9 l'on peut parler fran\u00e7ais et gagner sa vie.  Sa fille a\u00een\u00e9e avait fui le Vi\u00eatnam avant que la famille ne quitte le pays. Elle monta \u00e0 bord d'un navire britannique et finit par s'installer en Angleterre jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'elle retrouve sa famille en 1980. Apr\u00e8s son \u00e9tablissement \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, LAM Thu Van choisit de poursuivre ses \u00e9tudes afin de retrouver son permis de pratiquer la m\u00e9decine. Elle est tr\u00e8s fi\u00e8re des r\u00e9alisations de son fils et de sa fille. Ils ont termin\u00e9 leurs \u00e9tudes et sont devenus des citoyens canadiens accomplis.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"videowrapper\"><iframe class=\"video\"
